Injection Moulding Shop Shapes its Future with FANUC
Viskiplast
Founded in 1987, Viskiplast is a second-generation family-owned specialist in plastic injection moulding. Located in Ráckeve, around 30 km south of Budapest, Hungary, Viskiplast says it has production tools and all-electric injection moulding machines that enable the most up-to-date and economical plastic component manufacturing available. Its extensive knowledge and continuous development, Viskiplast strives to provide customers with the best quality at the best price, thereby increasing its competitive edge. Viskiplast Enjoys ‘Electric’ ROBOSHOT Performance
“My parents founded the company in 1987,” states Csaba Viski, Managing Director of Viskiplast. “We built a very successful injection moulding business but managed to remain a relatively small family-owned enterprise to ensure flexibility for customers. Our core business is the production of parts for roller shutters and shades, but we’re also active in a number of other fields, such as the automotive sector. In addition, we produce caps and bottle handles for the packaging industry.”
Viskiplast makes most of its products in small volumes, with typical batch sizes in the thousands or tens of thousands.

In the spring of 2019, Viskiplast was invited to attend a machine demonstration at a nearby company where it could assess a number of FANUC ROBOSHOT models. Viskiplast’s delegation decided there and then that it was the type of machine required, promptly placing an order for an 𝛼-S100𝑖A model. A number of machine attributes influenced the purchase decision.
“For a start, power consumption is far less than injection moulding machines from other manufacturers,” explains Viski. “We have since confirmed this with our own analysis: we recorded savings of 70% compared with hydraulic machines. Furthermore, the advanced functions of the FANUC ROBOSHOT, which we have not yet encountered on other machines, work very well. Automatic clamp force adjustment, for example, saves energy and puts less strain on the mould.”
Viski also likes the ROBOSHOT’s integrated mould and ejector protection: “In our experience, mould damage or breakage cannot occur with this type of machine.”
A few weeks ago, Viskiplast received a request for a new product required on a very short lead time.
“Due to our existing satisfaction with FANUC, there was no question about where to go,” reports Viski. “FANUC responded very quickly to our needs and proposed several options for our consideration. We duly ordered our next ROBOSHOT machine and it will arrive in 3-4 weeks.”
