Injection moulding is usually associated with high energy costs - not so with the all-electric ROBOSHOT machines from FANUC, which have enabled ITD to achieve energy savings of 50%. In combination with an excellent service this convinced ITD to further automate with FANUC.
To guarantee its continuous production cycle, company ITD is striving to achieve maximum serviceability and trouble-free operation with all its machines.
Solution
Existing hydraulic injection moulding machines were replaced with all-electric ones. ITD’s production facilities now include five FANUC ROBOSHOT injection moulding machines with a different clamping force level. In addition, ITD deployed two FANUC ROBODRILL vertical machining centres to cover its instrument production needs.
Result
ITD has managed to reduce its production costs and has achieved a consistently high quality level. During the monitoring of energy consumption, it was established that FANUC machines provide 50% energy savings, which makes ITD's products extremely competitive.

ITD Recommends FANUC's Service and Equipment for Ensuring Trouble-Free Operation
For more than 30 years, ITD has relied on FANUC Bulgaria’s maintenance services to ensure maximum serviceability and trouble-free operation with its FANUC equipment. The services used by ITD include contracts for machine servicing, maintenance, staff training and reprogramming of options to meet specific production needs.
Ivan Daradjanski
Owner and manager of ITD.
"We have only rarely had to seek their assistance for repairs, but on those occasions, they responded quickly. We have peace of mind. We are extremely pleased and if we have to evaluate FANUC’s service, we will rate it as excellent“, said ITD’s manager.
"We have chosen FANUC because their machines help us reduce the costs required for our finished products. The ROBOSHOT injection moulding machine with CNC control is characterised by stable mechanics, reliability and easy operation, and can produce high precision casts. One of its most important benefits is its low electricity consumption – once we began working with it, it wouldn’t be long before we found out that we achieved over 50% in terms of energy savings. Compared to hydraulic machines, our production with ROBOSHOT is environmentally friendly, as there are no oils, filters or pumps, or heating from these pumps", shared Daradjanski.
"ROBODRILL, on the other hand, is a fast high-quality machine with all the options of a 4-axis machine centre. With its 24,000 revolutions, we can achieve an exceptional quality in our manufactured products at a very good price, thanks to the very low power consumption", he added.
The next stage lies in the robotisation of production both in machine-building and in the production of plastic products.
"Following market trends, the future lies in a high degree of automation, robotics and artificial intelligence. And this is what we are striving for. As a company, we rely on the loyalty to our partners when they have proven their reliability. For us, FANUC is synonymous with trust and security and we prefer to work with them.", Mr. Daradjanski concluded.
